Common Questions about Vacation Rental Homes

Q:  What are my cabin amenities?

 A.  Every cabin is individually owned therefore each home will have different ammenities.  Our website will have the ammenities listed on each cabin when you click on an individual cabin and  i:ts description.

Q:What should we bring?

A:  Each cabin comes fully stocked with all kitchen essentials and necessary linens.  Bear Den Cabin Rentals, LLC will supply each guest with a starter supply of toilet tissue, paper towels, hand soap, dish liquid, dishwasher tabs and laundry detergent.  You will need to furnish your own personal toiletries, shampoos, soaps and hair dryers (some cabins have hair dryers others do not) as well as enough paper goods to finish your stay.

Q: Will my cell phone have service at my cabin?

A. We cannot guarantee that any cabin will or will not have cell phone service.  Each cell phone carrier will pick up @ different location in the mountains.  Verizon and AT&T will get service more often whereas Sprint and Nextel are very limited in the mountians.  The majority of our cabins have land line telephones for use of 800 numbers, local numbers and emergency calls only.  Please be sure to bring a calling card with you should you need to make any long distance calls from your cabin.

Q: Will we encounter wildlife?

A.  You are coming to the mountains, so you will probably encounter wildlife of some type.  Bears, raccoons, deer, possums, squirrels, snakes, ladybugs and flying insects are some of our most encountered wildlife.  Please be aware of their presence and help us prevent them from becoming a nuisance and bring in/store properly all garbage.  We encourage insect repellent in the summer months due to flying/biting insects.  Each of our homes are professionally treated for pests, but that cannot guarantee that you will not encounter some type of insect or bug in the cabin on occasion.  Most insects are seasonal and we can only try to prevent their presence not eliminate it.

Q:  Will my GPS help me locate my cabin or local attractions?

A.  In most places your GPS will work fine, but we ask that you not rely on your GPS as your only means of locating your cabin.  Being in the mountains can cause your GPS to be very unreliable at times.  Bear Den Cabin Rentals, LLC cannot be responsible for guests not finding their cabin because they did not bring our e-mailed directions with them on their trip.

Q: If our cabin has a fireplace, where do we get firewood?

A.  Some of our cabins offer firewood at thier cabin.  If your cabin does not offer firewood then Bear Den Cabin Rentals offers firewood delivered prior to your arrival at an additional fee.  This is a service that you may add onto your stay when complete your reservation online or over the telephone.

Q: Can I bring my pet?

A. Yes.  We have "pet-friendly" cabins available for rent that will allow you to bring your pet.  We have a $25 pet fee with a maximum of 3 pets per cabin.

Q: Why do we have to pay an additional fee per person when our party exceeds 4 guests?

A. This fees is an additional housekeeping fee.  Each of our homes have a cleaning fee that is based on a 4 person stay.  We pay our housekeepers based on the standard number of bedrooms/bathrooms used for a party of four people.  When the guest party exceeds 4 guests, we then pay our housekeepers accordingly so that the house is kept is the up most standard of clean.  This fee is a one time fee per guest.  It is not a nightly per person fee.

Q:  Why do we have to pay a security deposit when we don't intend on damaging the home?

A.  This security deposit is in place to protect the homeowners.  We know that you would never intend on damaging one of the homes, but accidents happen.  Each of our homes are individually owned and as a Rental Company we must protect the investment of the homeowner.  This fee is refundable, so if there is no damage done to the home after your departure, then all of your deposit will be returned to you.  Some of our smaller homes will allow for smaller deposits.  We also offer a non-refundable security deposit option to our smaller groups.  It does cost less but it is non refundable.  This is in leu of the larger refundable security deposit.  The choice is up to each individual guest.
